At the beginning of the last season, CCC decided to make a change in the captain position. The young Dermot Duley stagnated in his progress. He was sold with some old cheap riders and the money was reinvested in Dražen ?etnik, which became the new captain of CCC. After the Norway tour, where he finished fifth overall, he got a longer rest to acclimatize in his new team.
After the break he started in several climbing races, where he always finished on the podium. Thanks to his results and good atmosphere in the team, the Serbian got 1 point in CL and DH. It was time to make a decision... either to prepare top form for the Norway Tour or let him race. The second option was used. At the beginning of this season, CCC reached Zyte Division... another decision had to be made. Prepare the team for Norway Tour without top form or race as much as possible and maybe skip the Zyte division fast and start to race in the best division.
The management decided to choose the first variant. All the riders for the tour got a long race break and several days before the start of the tour a free role. Compared to the last season, it could be said, that Dražen ?etnik is in top form. Last season he just came from another team and was tired, because of the long negotiations. He also hadn´t known his teammates yet and had several offdays. The team is now prepared for the Norway Tour much better and the goals are clear as a whistle... ?etnik wants and has to win it!
P.S. while this press release was written a rider got injured and the team spirit increased rapidly...
